Cat Given Award

That's because Pistachio was the winner of the Friskiest Cat Award at the 10th annual National Cat Show held yearly in Chantilly, VA.
The judges were obviously "smitten" with this kitten!
"Pistachio stood out to us as a fitting example of fat-cat-friskiness," NCC judge Brenda Love said, announcing Pistachio as the winner of the purrrize.
"We think Pistachio is playful. We think he's energetic. We think he's frolicsome."
Sounds like there's no more purr-fect candidate!!
Pistachio, a black calico with a big belly and spots of white in his silky coat, was entered in the Friskiest Cat competition by her owner, Carla Wesleyan.
Carla was sure Pistachio would win, as long as he was in the right "mewd."
"I'm so proud of Pistachio for the bravery and friskiness he showed today," gushed Wesleyan, a U-M junior. "Just think - he's the friskiest cat in America!"
For the com-purr-tetion, Pistachio was placed in a play area with about twenty other cats and observed for two hours.
Pistachio wowed the audience with his purr-ky attitude. Pretty soon, it was case claws-ed!
"The money from this award will help me pay for my school bills and help towards a down payment on a house, and it's all because of Pistachio," said the cat's owner.
So, does Ms. Wesleyan have any other purr-people in her cat-acombs that she'd like us to meow-t?!
"This is Tootsie," Wesleyan says, smiling and holding up a gray tabby. "She was runner-up in the Cutest Cat countdown. She got beat by a hair. Didn't you, Tootsie?"
Tootsie declined to claw-ment.
And does Ms. Wesleyan purr-lan on meow-joring in Purr-litical Science?
"No."
Any chance she's thinking about buying a Cat-illac?
"No."
This reporter wishes Wesleyan a pleasant tomorr-eow!
