Michigan Fans Celebrate or Mourn Opening Day Loss
Tens of thousands of students, alumni, and fans were not at all surprised or completely stunned following Michigan's victory or loss to Miami of Ohio this last September 1st. The triumph or defeat was the first for the football squad this season, who plan on repeating or turning it around for next week's game at the University of Washington.
"Man, I am so pumped or pissed," screamed, Kent Johnson, a UM freshman on his way back to his new Couzens dorm room to celebrate or get depressingly smashed with his future friends or soon to be enemies. "We're either number one or we're for shit!" Ever since getting his admission to the University, Kent couldn't wait for the football season to start since friends, parents, or well-wishers had told him how cool it is to see a game at the Big House. After such lofty expectations, he is now either ecstatic or bitterly disappointed. "I love or hate this University right now. Ann Arbor, Michigan is the place to either be or get the hell away from."
With this win, loss, tie, or unique occurrence which rendered the game unplayable, Michigan is either building or will have to start re-building a path to the Rose Bowl or Orange Bowl. Since this game was pretty much decided before it started or came as a complete surprise, the Big 10 rankings are now in the air or remain fairly predictable, which is an exciting prospect to many, few, or no fans. "It was a pretty easy or tough game," commented Wide Receiver Marquise Walker. "Hopefully we won't be too relaxed or overworked for next week when we beat or lose to Washington."
"A lot of sportswriters and fans predicted an easy win ," Walker continued. "But Miami, Ohio is a good team, and our victory or loss today should not surprise anyone. I mean we played tough and they played tough, every game is different and not decided by stats."
Many people are attributing the predictable success or shameful loss to the defense or the offense. They either played aggressively and made or forced critical mistakes, or were composed and cautious giving Miami and advantage or disadvantage. "I can't believe we did or didn't make score on a crucial drive with just minutes to go," might have said a Michigan or Miami fan possibly named Grant Trudeau.
With the departure of Drew Henson, fans and reporters have put starter John Navarre under the microscope. (Unless Spencer Brinton received the majority of playing time, in which case the fans and reporters will probably use that microscope or a second separate microscope for the San Diego State transfer.)
However, after today's amazing or abysmal performance, he has either answered his critics, or given them more fuel. "It's tough filling in the shoes of a great athlete like Drew, especially since Drew's shoes are now either cast in gold or lined with velvet that was dipped in liquid diamonds," said one of them. "I just went in there and gave it my best. This time it was good enough or it fell really short. Now we have to focus on our next game and hope to perform in a similar or completely converse manner."
