Edwards Awkwardly Accepts Endorsement From Daily

With an air of uncertainty, Sen. John Edwards recently accepted the endorsement extended to him by The Michigan Daily. Although the Senator appeared to have no idea what this honor meant, his speech expressed graciousness. "Thanks," Edwards said.

When prodded for a little more of a response, Edwards added, "No, really, thank you." This coveted endorsement came only after months of heated speculation among political experts. One such expert is Wolf Blitzer, of the cable news network CNN. "I personally thought the Daily would go with Dean all along," said Blitzer. "Looks like I owe Stephanopolous five bucks."

Governor Howard Dean, too, responded affirmatively that he had expected the endorsement of the Daily. "Yeaaaaaghhhhh!" he said. Political analyst James Carville could only speculate on the impact this endorsement would have on the race for the Democratic nomination. "This could swing the whole thing in Edwards' favor," said Carville. "Sure, Kerry currently is polling around 56% in Michigan, but now that The Michigan Daily has endorsed Edwards, watch out. That's the way you endorse."
