One Hundred Eighteen Years of Increasing Senility
Letters to the Editor

In response to your heinous article about the genocide in Darfur being a publicity stunt for a Don Cheadle I suggest that you get your facts straight before posting misleading statements. The reality is that the genocide in Darfur is happening and is NOT some cheap publicity stunt. I am appalled that this website would even think about posting a story like this. Any good journalist would know to cite their sources and have some sort of hard evidence to support their claims. I suppose you think that Hotel Rwanda and that genocide was made up or the Holocaust was staged...get a clue and get your facts straight. To: Kevin Freeman From: threeweeks@umich.edu

Dear Mr. Freeman,
We thank you for your concern. Unfortunately, unless you can provide us with hard evidence and cite your sources that the events in Darfur are not in any way related to Mr. Cheadle, we find ourselves forced to stand by our own research. Frankly your opinion of Mr. Cheadle as an actor matters very little, and even I admit that his command of regional dialects is admirable as far as his craft goes, but this is much bigger than that. We musn’t let our affinities stand in the way of what is right, and in that sense, Mr. Cheadle must be brought to justice. Also, are you perchance either the Kevin Freeman who plays for the Brisbane Bullets in the Australian Basketball League or the Danish Folksinger Kevin Freeman? Failure to be either of these persons will in no way impact our handling of this situation, but if you happen to be the latter, we are huge fans of your “Dusty Roads” rendition.
Yours,
The Eds
